Important Update - August 1, 2009
The drought conditions in northern Kenya are extremely severe, with little or no rain since April 2008. Because of this natural disaster, donations for Cows for Kids will go towards livestock support (hay and water) and the purchase of goats only. We will advise when cows will be available for purchase in the future.
 

Cows for Kids provides livestock and livestock support services as an important source of nutrition and income for the families of northern Kenya. 

Goats

   Buys a share in a goat.  The hardy goats of northern Kenya can survive any drought in the semi-arid area of northern Kenya.

   Buys a goat - an important source of nutrition.  And they have 2 to 4 kids per year – providing an important source of income.
     
Cows
     
$50
   Buys a share in a young cow.  Cows are an important part of the culture of the people of northern Kenya.

   Buys a share in a cow that provides an important source of nutrition.

   Buys a young female cow that will provide young calves.

   Buys a breeding bull or milking cow that will provide an important source of income.
